Protect Your Investment with Boat Insurance
You may think that boat insurance is a necessary evil, but the right coverage can give you peace of mind while you are out on the water and while your boat is on dry land.  A general homeowner’s policy doesn’t usually have enough coverage for most boats.  Check with your present homeowner’s policy to see if your boat is oversized or too expensive to be included.  Here are some things to consider when looking at getting boat insurance.

Make sure that your boat insurance covers you no matter where you go boating.  You will probably want to have coverage that offers roadside assistance (sounds weird, but read on).  To get this coverage you must also insure your boat trailer.  On water towing is also a must, as well as wreckage insurance. Of course you will also want to have coverage for personal liability in case of an accident.

Last but certainly not least; your boat insurance should cover theft and loss of your fishing equipment.  Keep an inventory of all your equipment in the glove compartment of your car and you will always know what you have. We have added some reputable insurers on our Resources page; take a look and see what’s right for you.
