Hard-sided tackle boxes are heavier than soft sided but do have the advantage of multiple drawers and fold out trays.  Many have movable dividers so that you can customize the size of the compartments.  Check that the handle is sturdy enough to take the weight of all your stuff.

Soft-sided tackle boxes are relatively new on the market but extremely popular.  The advantage is that they are lightweight and generally waterproof.  Many will have side and top storage pockets so that you can put larger items in them.  Most will have removable storage containers which allow you to only take what you need on a particular fishing trip.  A good feature to look out for is padded shoulder straps.
